Often times it can be difficult to fit in an entire exercise regimen into a busy schedule. Physical Therapists sometimes have a tendency to give 20 exercises and tell someone to do them 20 times a day, and then we are surprised when the patient does not do them. I like to give quick and easy exercises that take just a few seconds to perform throughout your day. This is a clip from a talk I did for the Colorado New Dentist Committee. I talk about finding triggers during the day that remind you to perform your quick and easy exercise. As long as I can show a patient a reason for doing the exercise, and not make it too overwhelming, I find that the patient is much more compliant with the exercise. This way we are able to get a faster and better result for the patient. I would not want to do excessive amounts of seemingly pointless exercise and I do not expect the patient to do so either.
