TMJ Pain Relief

There are many different ways to approach a complex patient with TMJ (jaw) pain/neck pain/shoulder pain.  I am a CE (continuing education) junkie, and love to learn as much as I can to help my patients and have a diverse pool of knowledge to draw from.

The problem when looking for TMJ pain relief is that there isn’t a standardized form of treatment.  One practitioner will tell you something, and do what they have been taught to do, and hopefully you will fit in that box, and it will help.  Often times however the one form of treatment that the practitioner has been taught is not what you need and it does not help you at all. On the physical therapy side of things I have found a Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) approach to be the best.

Most TMJ patients, are folks who have been to multiple practitioners and have had poor outcomes and presents with symptoms that include jaw pain, ear pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, headaches, and even back pain believe it or not.  I am really excited to get to host a group of amazing physical therapists and present our take on the issue.  They came from all over the Front Range on a work night so you know they are a dedicated bunch!
